Description
Double-duty gap ring adds depth and width to 2-gang wall plates for covering gaps behind and around standard boxes. Designed for use with standard and mid-size plates, these larger rings hide electrical box edges and gapping around 4x4 boxes or 2-gang handy boxes. Gap fixer extension rings will create a deeper wall plate by extending the edges by .125" to hide an ugly space under a plate on a protruding wall box. In addition, this cover is wide enough to cover up broken sheetrock or mis-cut solid surface material around the box. You'll find these situations when removing wood paneling, where installed drywall isn't thick enough, or when standard boxes instead of shallow boxes were installed in exterior walls. These also work in situations where bulky electronic timers or dimmers have extra wires that don't allow them to fully into the box if used with box extenders. Please note the front face of the rings will be a visible border around the wall plate.
While intended for standard or mid-way plates (any plates between 4.5" and 5.5"), these extender rings could also be used with our 2-gang oversized light switch and outlet covers. Fits most electrical devices including rocker or toggle light switches, duplex outlets, slide dimmers, GFCI electrical outlets, etc.
