This 2-wire low voltage 2 button switch unit can be used to replace any 3-wire low voltage 1 switch unit by GE, Bryant or Remcon. If converting from these systems, be sure to order the 3 wire to 2 wire Touch Plate conversion guide, which will then be included free of charge.

Q & A

Q. Can this Touch Plate switch unit be wired as a three way? A. Yes, these function as 3-way low voltage momentary switches. The switch will be wired in parallel to the relay it is controlling, and the relay will respond when receiving a signal from the switch. Q. Can I use this low voltage 2-switch unit to control two different garage doors or dumb waiters? A. Touch Plate switches are used in so many different low voltage applications. As long as the garage doors or dumbwaiters are low voltage (24-30 VDC) and 2-wire/momentary, Touchplate wall switches can work fine. Typically a dumb-waiter or door bell is separate and isn't connected to the low voltage system. So this means it wouldn't be different for a 3-wire system or a 2-wire. Even a garage door switch typically goes right to a doorbell transformer and doesn't connect to anything else, but you would want to confirm that. A momentary switch (SPST) is all that is needed. SPST=Single Pole Single Throw.

    Have not used yet

Not being an electrician, I would appreciate a wiring diagram for use in replacing the original Remcon switches, also how to connect them to the wall plate. Thank you.
