Recessed 2-Port Keystone Data Jack Outlet Cover Wall Plates

Solid metal plate. Not cheap

This is an excellent quality metal recessed two keystone plate. I used these to recess positive and negative speaker terminals for wall mounted surround sound speakers. The recessed keystones allowed the speakers to sit nearly flat against the wall, greatly simplifying and improving the appearance of the installation. My only concern is that due to the tight spacing between the binding post keystones I used and the edges of the metal holes punched in the plates for the keystones, there is a chance of one or both speaker wires touching the metal plate, resulting in a possible short circuit. This can be mitigated by being careful with how you wire up the binding posts (make sure the wire insulation protects against grounding to the plate, etc.). A plastic/acrylic version of the plate would be even better, as it would be non-conductive. Overall an excellent product that's expensive but worth it in specialized circumstances.

Nobody locally (small hardware stores, big box home stores) carried anything like this and they didn't know where I could find such a thing. So glad I found this website. It was possible to move my existing RJ 45 (Ethernet) jacks from the standard wall plate to this one. They just snapped into place so no need for wiring new jacks. (Still, I hired a professional because I didn't trust that I could manage it without breaking something.)
